Reseña Biográfica
Aleksei Gómez Torres nació en 1967 al sur de América, arrullado por la calidez humana del Caribe en el Valle Sagrado del Guaraira Repano (Ávila), en Caracas.
En 1992 fue parte del movimiento artístico “Los Homo Ludens”, en la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Intervino los espacios libres de la universidad, pintando las puertas del Aula Magna, haciendo teatro y performance evocando la libertad de expresión y los grandes viajes que realiza nuestra alma trashumante.
Se publica un libro de poesía colectiva llamado “Tierra de Nadie”, en honor al campus de la UCV , con varias ilustraciones suyas.
A los 27 años fue aceptado en el Instituto Armando Reverón, pero prefirió ingresar “en retiro” al Ashram de la Gran Fraternidad Universal
Por tres años se dedicó al estudio de sí mismo con la mayor vehemencia, utilizando como vehículos la práctica del Yoga, la astrología, las religiones comparadas, el ocultismo, la numerología, la nutrición y el arte sagrado y místico. Este arte es la base fundamental para el desarrollo de sus relaciones con el mundo de la imagen. A partir de entonces empezó a explorar la posibilidad consciente de expresar su proceso interior de manera que pudiera ser un testimonio y una guía para los caminantes espirituales.
En 1997 viajó a India por un corto período de 6 meses. Ese primer contacto directo con el universo oriental abrió su paleta a una sutileza mágico-religiosa en la que la devoción hacia la inmensidad y el misterio comenzó a ser su preocupación expresiva primordial.
En Costa Rica, en 1999 conforma el grupo “Solunio”, donde cuatro elementos comulgan: Arte, Yoga, curación y peregrinaje al servicio del alma.
En el 2001 regresó a la India. Participó en el Taller de Arte Sagrado en Ravena, Auroville, Tamil Nadu. Luego ingresó por cuatro años y medio a un centro de meditación budista; allí vivió la vida monástica y estudió Pali..
En el año 2006 en Tailandia se publica un libro llamado Seeking Buddho de un Monje Budista llamado Ajahn Anan, superior del monasterio Wat Marp Jan en Rayong. La portada es realizada por el pintor y es llamada “bodhi leaf ”.
Desde finales del 2008 la cultura Tolteca lo hechizó, y desde el valle central de México continúa recorriendo las siluetas de su espiral, ahora bajo la luz que baña esas latitudes…
En el año 2009 se publica en EEUU una guía para viajeros y buscadores espirituales de la India y Nepal, con varias ilustraciones de Aleksei, incluyendo la portada. Se encuentra disponible en Internet:

Biography
Aleksei Goméz was born in 1967 in South America, comforted by the human warmth of the Caribbean in the sacred valley of Caracas
In 1992, Aleksei took part in an artistic movement called “the Homo Ludens” at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). As part of that group, he invaded the university’s free spaces, painting the doors of the main auditorium or “aula magna”, performing in theater and doing other activities by which he evoked freedom of expression and the great journeys of our traveling soul. He provides several of his paintings for a poetry book called “No one’s land” (“Tierra de Nadie”), in honor of the Central University of Venezuela’s main campus. When he was 27 years old he was accepted at an arts institute in Venezuela (Instituto Armando Reverón), but he chose instead to enter a spiritual “retreat” at the Ashram of the Great Universal Fraternity in El Limón, Maracay (Venezuela
During the following three years he was dedicated to studying himself with the utmost vehemence, using various tools: yoga, astrology, compared religions, occultism, numerology, nutrition and sacred and mystic art. This art is the main basis for the development of his connection with the world of images. Since then he began to explore the possibility of expressing his interior process in a way that could serve as a testimony and a guide for those who are spiritual travelers.

In 2006, in Thailand the book “Seeking Buddha” is published by a Budhist Monk called Ajahn Anan, from the monastery Wat Marp Jan en Rayong. The cover is made by Aleksei and is called “bodhi leaf”.
Since 2008 he has been captivated by the Toltec culture, and from the main valley of Mexico
